"Rite Of Passage" Teen Charm Bracelet

I remember when I was a teenager, there was a specific day that I thought about the transition I was going through.  I felt like I had a decision to make.  Should I grow up or not.  I had a lot of conflicting feelings about my changing body and what that meant in relation to everything else in my life.  I also remember feeling distant from my parents.  I just knew that they wouldn't understand what I was going through.

Every day, it seems, someone says teenagers are so different than they used to be. We hear about drug and alcohol use, violence, disrespect, and a myriad of other ills that are affecting our adolescents, including low self-esteem, anger, depression, and family problems. But it seems that little is said about how to create a positive transition from adolescence to adulthood.

Now that I'm older, I know that what I was feeling is typical for teenagers. There is a gradual transition period between being a child growing into adulthood. Many cultures have ceremonies to commemorate this transition thus recognizing and giving permission from the whole family for the teen to mature.  It serves also to open communication between the teen and their parents which is critically needed during this time.

With all of these things and more in mind, I created the"Rite Of Passage" Teen Charm Bracelet.  Any teenage girl would love to receive this and keep it to remember this period in their lives.

The charms used and their meaning are:

Cinderella's carriage - signifying change into a beautiful young lady
a purse - responsibility
a pretty pump heel - beauty
a party dress - an exciting beautiful future
a young lady on the phone - a typical girl this age
Heart with 1st kiss - love
designer blue jeans - fashion sense
perfume - the desire to be her best
In between these charms are stars, musical notes, keys and wings that all have meaning for her.
